Almighty God,
We thank you for the gift of your holy word.
May it be a lantern to our feet,
A light to our paths,
And a strength to our lives.
Take us and use us
To love and serve all men
In the power of the Holy Spirit
And in the name of your Son,

O gracious God and most merciful Father,
Who hast vouchsafed to us the rich and precious jewel of thy holy word :
Assist us with thy Spirit,
That it may be written in our hearts to our everlasting comfort,
To reform us,
To renew us according to thine own image,
To build us up in the perfect building of thy Christ,
And to increase in us all heavenly virtues.
